Pelham Free Public Library Collection

Search the Library Catalog or Renew a Book

The Pelham Free Public Library is a member of MassCAT, a consortium of small libraries (member list) in Massachusetts. The Library catalog shows items in the Pelham Library collection, as well as in the collections of the other member libraries. Materials may be requested online from other member libraries.

Use the same link to renew a book. You may fill in the Login and Password fields to the right in the middle of the screen, or you may click on the link “Log in to Your Account” in the upper right of the Pelham Library catalog page.


Electronic Books

The Pelham Library ebook and audio book collection are accessed through Overdrive.  Library staff are happy to help you access the collection or configure you devices.  The general instructions are below.

On a computer, using a web browser:

  • Go to https://sails.overdrive.com/
  • Find the Sign In button (right-hand side in blue)
  • On the “Select Your Library from the List Below” section, choose “MassCat Library Patrons”
  • Sign in with your Login ID and password.  The Pelham Library login codes are 14-digits long, where the 4-digit number on your library card is the last four digits.  The ID will be 2736900000 (27 369 five zeros) followed by your card number. For many Pelham Library patrons, their password is the same as their 4-digit card number.  If you don’t remember your password a librarian can reset it.

On a mobile device, using the app:

  • Download the free app, “Libby, by OverDrive,” from the Apple app store or Google Play
  • Follow the prompts to search or select a library.  Search for “SAILS Library Network”
  • Follow the prompts for and select the “I have a library card” option
  • On the “Select Your Library from the List Below” choose “MassCat Library Patrons.”  Note the different selection at the second prompt.
  • Sign in with your Login ID and password.  The Pelham Library login codes are 14-digits long, where the 4-digit number on your library card is the last four digits.  The ID will be 2736900000 (27 369 five zeros) followed by your card number.  For many Pelham Library patrons, their password is the same as their 4-digit card number.  If you don’t remember your password a librarian can reset it.

On a second mobile device, using the app:

Once you have configured the app on one device, another device can be configured to sync with the first device.

Other Collections

SAILS is part of a reciprocal lending agreement that includes the Minuteman Library Network and Old Colony Library network.  The login process to access the Minuteman and Old Colony Library network collections is the same as above except that you need to select the other collection(s) at the beginning.

App:

  • In the “Libby, by OverDrive” app, follow the prompts to search or select a library
  • Search for “Old Colony Library Network” or “Minuteman Library Network”
  • Follow the prompts for and select the “I have a library card” option
  • On the “Select Your Library from the List Below” choose “MassCat Library Patrons”
  • Sign in with your barcode and PIN/password

Inter-Library Loan

The Pelham Free Public Library does a brisk business in inter-library loans. Please work with library staff to obtain the materials needed.


Jones Library, C/W MARS libraries

Massachusetts residents may get a free library card from the Jones Library in Amherst or any C/W MARS library. This gives patrons access to the Central & Western Massachusetts Automated Resource Sharing consortium.
